for 12drakon on ao3. here’s the cybertronian script I invented for punk as hell, first plain and second with word divisions.

the first one says “metal [links 2 words by material in any order] body (with possessive modifier) [separates items in a list] energy [links 2 words by material] spark (with possessive modifier)” or, “the metal of my body and the energy of my spark.”

the second one says “metal comprises my body”

the third one says “what comprises your body [uncertainty or question]”

OHHHHH IM IN LOVE

what was ur process for designing the words/logograms? do they have radicals like han characters do, and are there any phonetic parts of the characters or do they only carry semantic information?

also what kind of grammar are u using /chinhands

ah omg I literally just… designed the characters to be a shape that felt right for the concept. like you can see the character for spark looks like a spark. I didn’t put that much thought into it, I just thought it would make sense if each glyph took up a certain grid space and there would be a lot of different combinations? right now the only radicals I’ve worked out are possessive radicals, those are in the bottom right corner. but I think there would be other radicals, maybe for tense and verb conjugation for different people.

the grammar is a lot based on particles (like the ones in blue) that indicate relationships between two or more words, like “one of these is made of the material of the other” or “this is part of that group” or “this caused that.” probably passive voice is not a thing at all… does grammar come in “kinds”…

I’m really happy that you’re excited about it though! I love to talk about linguistics and develop my ideas about it!

ahhh haha thats reasonable…. writing systems are Hard (radicals are actually used for semantic and phonetic information rather than grammatical, iirc! like the characters for cat (猫) and fox (狐) both share the radical that denotes “animal” - the vertical element on the left)

also i dont think grammar has “kinds” but it has features which is what i was going for lol.. ANYWAY cool i rly like particle systems like that :3
