hey just fyi while tumblr’s new vaguely-flocked feature is a step in the right direction, it’s still very leaky.
- people following you can reblog yr posts. if people reblog yr posts, anyone who sees yr attributed post on their dash can click on yr username and freely read (and further reblog) yr posts via the in-dash blog display.
- if you like, reblog, or reply to anybody’s posts, likewise, yr username shows up in that post’s notes and can be clicked on to display yr blog.
- even if you go completely stealth, if someone guesses yr username they can still follow you manually (and get blocked, but in the time between the follow and the block they can happily read yr posts)
so everybody should probably bug support about that. and in the mean time if you know someone using a flocked blog don’t reblog their posts, and if you have a flocked blog, uh, never like anything. or reblog anything. or reply to anything. gee it’s almost like tumblr could use real privacy settings. like “disallow reblogs” and “require permission before anyone can follow you”
yr doing a bang-up job as usual tumblr.
